I was born in 1977 in Krakow. My first contact with photography was in the 2nd half of the 80s. I found a cheap and simple photo camera "Smyena" produced in the USSR and I was fascinated with it. With a little help of my uncle who was a photographer and film maker I took my first pictures and then we spent a lot of time in my bathroom which we made into a darkroom. For a 9-year old boy it was like magic... We would put a piece of white paper into some liquids and it then became a real photo! Taken by me!
Unfortunately after a few months I lost my first camera - I broke it durring a bike trip... And it was the first time i had to part with photography

At the end of primary school I started my adventure with computers starting from a simple Atari - used mostly for playing video games. Since I got my first PC (in high school) I started to learn computer graphics, photo retouching, photo collages. At the beginning I used it mostly for creating websites, which is what fascinated me most and was the first source of my own money.
At the end of highschool I started to work for a youth magazine and at the same time I bought the book "Photography" by John Hedgecoe, who was my first mentor and advisor. I also bought my first Canon camera -500n - and since that time I'm a truehearted customer of this company.

During the last year of my high school and the first years of my studies (sociology at the Jagiellonian University) I cooperated with the magazine I mentioned and together with my friend - who was a journalist - we were responsible for service during cinema premieres - he was making interviews and I was taking pictures. This time I got my first paid advertising job i.e. I made a photoshoot of art pieces for an art gallery from Krakow. I also started to work with models - I still continue to work with one of them ;-) At the end of my studies I started to work in a dotcom as a marketing specialist and a little bit later as a marketing director. It was the reason of my second divorce with photography as I didn't have enough free time to take pictures. My Canon was, sadly, fast asleep on the shelf... After a long time of its "unemployment" I decided to sell it...

During the following years I started to manage my own small advertising and graphic agency and I observed the development of digital revolution. I belived that this is the future but cameras were too expensive and the quality of the pictures was much, much worse then that of the pictures from my old Canon. But I was sure that the technology will develop very fast and in a short time cameras will be cheaper and better. And in 2005 I decided to buy my first digital camera. It was an advanced (at this time of course) compact camera by Fuji - yes, I know it was a betrayal but the romance was very short ;-))

But in a short time the facilities of the camera was to poor for me and I bought my first DSLR - of course made by Canon. And it was a big come back. I started to buy many books - in order to refresh the memory of my old experiences and information, I discussed my pictures with my friends - photographers. But at the beginning it was only a hobby. My main source of income was still computer graphics and especially webdesign. And then I got my first job as a photographer, and then another one... I started to invest a lot of money in photography and studio equipment.
In 2009 I started to manage my first own photo studio. I started to work more as the photographer than webdesigner. At this time I started to make movies too - using DSLR and its magical qualities.

Durring the last years of my photo career I made a lot of photoshoots - portrait, artistic nude, glamour, fashion and of course advertising. I'm the member of a photo associations i.e. Royal Photographic Society and I'm taking part in many contests. I was awarded prizes in the International Portrait and Nude Contest Aphrodite 2010, and also, among others, on FIAP International Salon of Digital Photography - Exposed 2011. I also have a lot of publications in magazines, newspapers, on Internet websites and I presented my works on some exhibitions.
Now I'm moving in to a new studio located in the center of Krakow, in the former jewish district which is now popular among artists, students and tourists.

My philosophy of photography is simple. First craft, then art. I think that before you start experimenting and developing new areas you should be very a good craftsman. Controlling the light, depth of field and focus must be the basis for everything else.
Photography for me is above all passion and attempt to create a better world. Being 35 years old I'm experienced enough to look at life with some afterthought and distance but I'm still young enough to have a lot of enthusiasm and energy to look for new experiences. I love to shoot people and I allways try to present them (in my pictures) better than in the real life. I'm trying to find the best light setup, best camera position etc. for any photographed person and search for every piece of their beauty which is worth showing.
Regarding my inspirations and idols, I like all photography classics like Newton or Leibovitz but I also appreciate a lot of works made by David LaChapelle.
